Are files uploaded to a server?
No. The Whisper model is downloaded once from the CDN, then audio is transcribed entirely in your browser.
Why is the first run slow?
On first use the model (~40 MB for whisper-tiny) is downloaded. Afterwards it stays cached and later runs are faster.
Can I transcribe a video?
Yes, if the browser can decode its audio track. Otherwise, extract the audio first.
