Frequently Asked Questions
What is EXIF metadata?
EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) is a standard that embeds technical information in digital images. It can include: GPS coordinates (location where the photo was taken), camera/smartphone model, date and time of capture, camera settings, and sometimes owner information.
How does removal work without libraries?
Our tool uses the browser's Canvas API: it loads the image, redraws it on an HTML5 canvas and re-exports it as a new file. This re-encoding process automatically removes all metadata embedded in the original image while preserving visual quality.
Does image quality change?
For JPEG, a 95% compression quality is applied, visually indistinguishable from the original. For PNG, the re-encoding is lossless: no quality loss. In both cases, all pixels are faithfully preserved.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No, absolutely not. All processing happens in your browser using JavaScript and the Canvas API. Files never leave your device and are not transmitted to any server.
