Calculate weighted GPA and estimate graduation grade
Italian University GPA Calculator — Weighted Average & Graduation Grade
Calculate your Italian university weighted average (media ponderata) based on each exam's credits (CFU) and get an estimate of your graduation base grade out of 110. Supports honors (30 e lode) and partial grades. Formula: Σ(grade × CFU) / Σ(CFU), then (average × 110) / 30.
How It Works
- Add each exam with name, grade (18–30) and number of credits (CFU)
- For partial grades, expand the row and enter each partial score separately
- Select 'Honors' for exams passed with distinction
- The result shows weighted average /30, graduation estimate /110, and total credits
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the weighted average calculated?
Each grade is multiplied by the exam's credits, all products are summed, then divided by total credits: Σ(grade × CFU) / Σ(CFU).
How is the graduation grade estimated?
The base graduation grade is: (weighted average × 110) / 30. Points from the thesis, honors, and other factors — which vary by university — are added by the graduation committee.
How is 30 e lode (honors) counted?
In the official formula, honors count as 30. The number of honors is shown as additional information. The graduation committee may add bonus points for honors.
What are partial grades?
If you passed an exam in multiple partial tests (e.g. three partials: 24, 28, 30), enter them separately. The tool automatically calculates their arithmetic average as the final exam grade.
